CSIR Invites unemployed graduates to apply for ICT Internship: Solutions Development (x3) – 2025

Contract Duration: 2 Years
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is offering three (3) internship opportunities in its ICT Services – Solutions Development Department. This two-year programme is designed to equip recent graduates with the technical skills and professional experience needed to build enterprise business applications using cutting-edge technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft, and open-source platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in backend and UI development using Oracle PL/SQL, APEX, JavaScript, and web technologies
- Build and maintain database-driven, enterprise-ready applications
- Assist in the development and testing of APIs and RESTful web services
- Analyse user requirements and automate business processes
- Contribute to coding, debugging, documentation, and governance compliance
- Collaborate with teams and participate in code reviews and technical meetings
Minimum Requirements:
- NQF Level 6 Diploma or higher in:
- Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Preferred: BCom Informatics, BTech or higher
- Strong ability in at least one technology from each of the following categories, and three overall:
- Scripting & Automation: PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, VBScript, Bash
- Data Objects: JSON, XML
- Languages: C#, Java, PHP, PL/SQL, Python
- SQL: SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL
- Web/UI: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- ERP Tools: PeopleCode, Power FX
- APIs/Web Services: REST, SOAP
- Command-line tools: PowerShell, Bash, VBScript
Additional Skills:
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
- Understanding of software security and best practices
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, process automation, and business solutions
- Problem-solving, analytical skills, and eagerness to learn
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
